My story

I started Saltborn Collective as a way to heal. When I decided to create this company I was recovering from breaking my leg in multiple places only to lose my grandmother a few days later. Cut off from the ocean, physical activity and much of my family and friends I fell into a depression. As I started to get better I became more creative. I then lost another person in my life unexpectedly. With my world shattered from the previous year of trials and tribulations I went to the one place I knew could heal me. The ocean.

Life will constantly throw things at you when you least expect It. It's our job to figure out how to handle all these unexpected events and find a way to heal. for me exploring inward with my creative passion helped me express my emotions.once i was physically healed enough being in the ocean made me remember what its all about. to be grounded by something so much bigger than you.

My whole life the ocean has been one of my best teachers. It has taught me peace in chaos, strength in turbulence, and silence when the rest of the world is loud. The closer I become with the ocean the more creativity and compassion it drives into me. I want to share the experience and passion that the sea can bring.

Dedications

To my Grandma Anne

My grandma Anne always encouraged me to follow my passions and helped me develop my love for the ocean as a child. She believed in hard work and dedication to ones self and has instilled a strong work ethic and entrepreneurship in me since I could remember. I know she would be proud to see what I am growing to achieve.

To my Grandma Carolyn

My grandma Carolyn taught me every single craft I could imagine doing. She continues to help me grow my business and support me in whatever way she can. Come say hi to her at our booth when we do events!

To our good friend Dalton

The loss of our fried so suddenly made Jayce and myself realize how important life and community are. Every day he brought a smile to our face. He shared the same love for the sea as most of us do. We know he's resting easy and we miss him very much.
