OUR
MISSION
Saltborn is more than jewelry. It’s a reflection of the ocean and the people shaped by it. Built around a lifestyle rooted in healing, connection, and respect for the sea, our mission is to inspire a deeper love for the ocean through jewelry, art, photography, and storytelling.
As Saltborn grows, we hope to build a community centered around creativity, conservation, and shared experience. We want to create a space to connect, learn, and inspire others to protect the places that make us feel most alive.
MEET FOUNDER,
SARAH

I started Saltborn as a way to heal. When I first began building it, I was recovering from breaking my leg in multiple places. A few days later, I lost my grandmother, followed unexpectedly by another important loss in my life.Being cut off from the ocean, movement, and the things that normally grounded me sent me into a depression. When I was finally able to get back in the water, it reminded me of what really matters - finding connection to something bigger than yourself.
The ocean has always been one of my greatest teachers. It’s taught me peace in chaos, strength through rough conditions, and how to slow down when life feels heavy. The deeper my connection with it became, the more it shaped my creativity, perspective, and the way I move through life. Saltborn Collective came from that experience. What started as a creative outlet became a way to process everything I was carrying, and my hope is to share even a small part of what the ocean has given me with others.
MEET PHOTOGRAPHER,
JAYCE
I’ve always been drawn to both photography and the ocean, and Saltborn Collective has given me the space to bring those passions together. Growing up in Northern California, I wasn’t close enough to the coast to experience the ocean every day. Beach trips were occasional, left for vacations or weekends away. Because of that, I grew up yearning for the water. Wanting to be in, around, or near the ocean has always been tied to what makes me feel most like myself.
Even though the ocean felt far away growing up,I still spent a lot of time exploring mountains, lakes, rivers, and creeks with friends who loved being outside just as much as I did. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with documenting those experiences and capturing the feeling of being there.
Now in Southern California, minutes from the coast, I’m able to spend more time in the ocean and behind the camera, capturing the moments that make this lifestyle so special and sharing that perspective with others who feel the same pull toward the water.
TO GRANDMA
ANNE

My grandma Anne always encouraged me to follow my passions. She helped me develop my love for the ocean as a child. She believed in hard work and dedication, instilling a strong work ethic and entrepreneurship my whole life. I know she would be proud to see Saltborn Collective where it is now.
TO GRANDMA
CAROLYN

My grandma Carolyn taught me every single craft I could imagine. She continues to help me grow my business and support me in whatever way she can. Come say hi to her at our booth when we do events!
TO OUR DEAR FRIEND
DALTON

Losing Dalton unexpectedly reminded Jayce and me how important life, friendship, and community really are.Dalton always knew how to make people smile. He shared the same deep love for the ocean that connects so many of us, an his spirit continues to live on in the water and the memories we carry with us. We miss him deeply.
